Core concepts
of the Discipline

  1. 01

    Functioning

Functioning is the object of study of the Discipline of Functioning, a field connected to the management of work.

It can be observed and deliberately structured through an administrative layer that spans Strategic Lines, from decision to execution, so they function with better performance and a greater capacity to sustain the results they aim to produce.

  2. 02

    Relational Reading

Observes what happens in the relationships involved in the execution of work: how people interpret what happens, how they act in delivering products, projects and other realities, where they encounter difficulties and what results those relationships are producing.

  3. 03

    Structural Rereading

A way of looking at the information produced by work and studying what it reveals about structural absences and the conditions that sustain a particular way of functioning.

  4. 04

    Standard Functioning

An architecture deliberately built to organize the conditions needed for what the organization has defined as important to remain recognizable amid the natural variation of work.

  5. 05

    Execution Governance

The acquired capacity to observe, decide, mediate, respond and restore coherence while functioning continues to vary.

Execution Governance does not govern people. It governs the coherence of functioning.
