Where the Discipline of Functioning came from
The Discipline did not begin with a decision to create a theory. It began taking shape after more than two decades of work, research, reading, rereading and intervention in different organizations. Problems that seemed to belong to leadership, strategy, processes, communication, relationships or execution began to reveal something recurring: decisions, criteria, positions, dependencies, absences, variations and other conditions participate in the way work happens. This is how functioning began to emerge as an object of study. Since then, this construction has been tested against different contexts and continues to develop.
Author and development
Marcelo Senna Pinheiro has worked professionally since 1998 and has led Senna - Governança da Execução since 2007. In recent years, he has delivered talks, training and consulting on communication about work and workers in different Brazilian states. For more than two decades, he has observed, listened to and studied the functioning of organizations, their internal relationships, their structure and their execution.
He is the developer of the Discipline of Functioning, Standard Functioning and Execution Governance.
Brazilian, from Bahia, married and a father of two, he is the author of Como o Trabalho Acontece: Do Funcionamento Padrão à Governança da Execução.
